Okay, finally getting everything uploaded for Otakon.

Sorry for the delay, but I had to take a day or two off for my health.

I have to say that these were some of the more colorful commissions around the house ^_^

I built them in layers, stack-cutting pieces and fitting them together. All the patterns had to be drawn by hand before I could begin, then cut and pasted together because my printer thought I was mental trying to fit the papers in there.

We tried to make them as light as possible and I think it worked as together they weighed less than 6lbs?

Anyway, I am really pleased with how they turned out ^_^

Commission for :icongoddess-iris: and her friends

I apologize for the quality of the pictures - my camera has decided to spazz on me lately.

Do you have any WIP pictures that you could post? I need to make Fuu's sword for a cosplay and am not quite sure how to start... Any pointers would be helpful as well! :)

Neat idea, if you dont mind an ancient craftsman making some suggestions, LEAF them! Bronze and copper leaf are real cheap and easy and make something really look like METAL in a way paint cant, swords were GOLD & other metal. Its just like gluing aluminum foil to your project (that would be cool on your blades. gw

Thank you so much for the suggestion ^_^
I've seen the leafing supplies in the store but I wasn't sure how they would look, though I'll probably be giving them a shot soon!
I have tried aluminum foil (attached with adhesive spray) on one of the first swords I made and was really pleased with the effect it gave off ^_^

Glad to help any fellow artist. Putting down leaf or foil can be TOO bright, so a way of muting it is to coat it with clear waterbased poly tinted with acrylic colors, raw umber wiped over gold (bronze) mutes it just right.,also, using a touch of orange, yellow in the poly, brushed over aluminum makes a nice gold. greg
