"Gets her karama with a catch,
forget superstition by wearing it backwards..."
~ Young Veins "Change"I'll be changing the poll soon for Halloween. I went to spookwalk last night and didn't really go as anyone specific (as it was dark as heck and no one could see anyway - plus the whole sweeney didn't work out though I might still do Mrs. Lovett anyway ^_^ I did sort of act like Bellatrix though, well a mix haha, scared kids, loads of fun)
Anyway, beside the point.
I know a lot of you are probably wondering about your orders and just what the heck could be taking so long ^_^ If you haven't emailed me in the last day or so then you won't have heard this.
My main saw for all the lovely detail work I do, the scroll saw, is on the fritz!
It was messing up when I went to my con last month and I was hoping it would hold together long enough then, but it seems I just can't make it work =/
It is the same one that messed up for a few weeks earlier in the year...
Well, rather than buy a new one (I was planning on doing so) I've decided to try and have it repaired. The new ones on the market are mostly cheap plastic parts that wouldn't hold together for minor cuts, not including my sort of work and would be a complete waste of money.
The problem in getting it repaired is trying to find somewhere to take it. I'm working on that now and hopefully by the end of the week it will be looking better.
It still works now, like we can turn it off and on and such, but as far as cutting power and accuracy, it just isn't up to usual standards. So that has put quite a dent in things.
I've been working on it all month, trying to make it cooperate with me, but no dice. I've had to use the band saw for small projects and while that will make cuts, it makes them very sloppy and involves lots of extra sanding (which clogs up my lungs).
I also wasn't planning on being so sick after returning from my con in September and that really set me back too. I was really really weak for a while, plus I had started my job, then going to school, and just crazy crazy hours and it took a long time for me to fully recover, though I still feel bad from time to time (though I'm not sure if that is still part of the cold I caught or a deeper problem like undiagnosed thyroid trouble and should hopefully get to a doctor soon for them to see about it as I'm having some of the symptoms that go with it).
School has really been busy as well. My last project was a complete failure because I missed several days being sick and cosplaying, so that really set me back on my project, I was uninspired, and thus lost confidence for a bit. Plus I have a paper due really soon and time has just gotten away from me before I knew it.
So, hopefully I'll have the saw fixed soon so I can complete orders before the end of the year. I'll try to respond to emails faster (as I got internet on my phone now so I can stay in better contact ^_^ )
But I thought I should give you an explanation in case you were wondering just why I haven't been on much.
My ususal stuff:
Sword/Prop/Contact/Commission InfoEDIT: Yes, we know all of the tips on our first swords are the wrong way. Working on correcting that now. Will not interefere with buying, just the deviation pictures as I am not going to change them. We have also started to add end cap pieces to make them look more finished.
Future personal/con projects: Original work for September...
Prices and such:See my website...
Questions/Contact:
Feel free to ask questions. If you would like to contact me through email faster then please feel free to do so hugsxheartsx@hotmail.com.
This is my business email left over from ebay days, not my personal one, though I ask that you still not spam it please and if you want to instant message, this is not the one to do it on. That is left for my personal, which you will have to ask for ^_^.
Also, if you see a sword or prop on here, that ends up sold, but you want one as well, then just let us know and we'll see what we can do.
So feel free to hit me up with questions, comments, etc. ^_^ I love to hear from you guys!
